Choking Hazard

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - This product may contain small parts.

Not for children under 3 years.

Each year, millions of products are sold or marketed toward children—of various ages. Unfortunately, many of these products are also associated with serious injuries, even death. Particularly susceptible to risk of injury are children ages 3 and under. Injuries can range from falling, choking, strangulation, and even poisoning. However, the leading cause of toy-related death is choking, usually on small parts. Our products may contain small parts and therefore may represent choking hazards for children under the age of 3. These products, therefore, should not be used by children under age 3…..and should be used with extreme caution by all ages. Injury often results when a product is misused or used by children who are too young for that particular product. An example is a product with small parts, designed for older children, which can cause choking when those small parts are ingested by, for example, a curious toddler. Knowing what dangers are associated with certain products and age groups can help you better protect your child from such injuries.

When selecting products for your child, consider the following recommendations:

Choose products that are age-appropriate and meet your child's skill level and interest by reading the product's labeling. Make sure products are used in safe environments.

Supervise and be involved in your child's play.

Store products intended for older children separately from those used by younger children. Use a small parts tester to determine which small toys or parts are a choking hazard to children under age 3. A small parts tester allows for small objects to be inserted - if the object fits, it is a choking hazard.

Check products regularly for damage and other hazards. Supervising your child's play, in addition to following the recommendations made by product manufactures, could save lives. Miniac LLC’s products should not be used, played with, or handled without adult supervision and are a choking hazard for children under age 3.
